In Saint-Herblain, in the Bagatelle district, the site reads as an amphitheatre hooked onto the wooded edge of the parc de la Savèze. Magnum's scheme sets two buildings there, the Belvédère and the Pavillon, fourteen dwellings each, framing a raised shared space, the Promontoire, that overhangs the stream. This open-air room opens onto the ground-floor common areas and steps down to the lower garden by a playful tiered stair. The Belvédère, slender up to its sixth floor, reaches the treetops; the Pavillon, more compact, works several orientations and tops its attic with rooftop houses. The whole is built in a wood-concrete mix, with timber-frame façades and biosourced materials.
