Plaka residences

In the hills of Plaka, on a Cycladic island, far from any village, Atelier Oï designs two private high-end houses. The whole idea is restraint: rather than imposing on the landscape, the two volumes settle into the slope and disappear behind it, built from local materials that tie them to the Greek ground. The level of the brief shows not in display but in finesse, in detail, in the rightness of what is fitted. The studio works here the way it always does: start from the material and the place, and show only what serves the living.
