Innovation cluster center Sophia Antipolis

At Sophia Antipolis, next to the EURECOM engineering school in Biot, Carta-Reichen et Robert competed for an innovation cluster built around artificial intelligence. The programme assembles the usual ecosystem of such a cluster: an incubator and business reception, research laboratories, shared offices, event and training spaces. What sets the entry apart is a waving lattice facade: its woven geometry breaks the daylight into shifting patterns across the day and casts shade exactly where the Mediterranean climate calls for it. The envelope handles thermal comfort without bolt-on sunscreens, and stays the single strong gesture of the whole.
