Saint-Ouen l'Aumône swimming pool

At Saint-Ouen l'Aumône, in the Val-d'Oise, the brief does not ask for a swimming pool but for a full aquatic centre, put to competition by Cergy Agglomération. Z Architecture took it on. Around 3,000 m² for €13.5M: a 500 m² eight-lane sport pool, a learning and activity basin, a leisure water area, outdoor water-play, a mineral solarium and a planted one. The whole has to hold competitive swimming and family leisure on a single site, from the trained swimmer to the toddler.
