Skating rink Valais

In Sierre, in the Valais, a former industrial site gives way to the Valais Arena and the VIVA eco-neighbourhood, a competition won by CCHE with Probatec and STUDIONOVA. The arena holds a 6,500-seat rink for ice hockey, curling and figure skating, the largest indoor sports complex in the canton. Around it, the eco-neighbourhood adds 600 intergenerational, high-performance homes along with shops and activity space, the whole tied to the CFF railway station by soft mobility. The remediated brownfield becomes a piece of city where sport works as structuring public infrastructure rather than a standalone object.
