Maloudja hotel

At Mitsamiouli, on the northern tip of Grande Comore, the still-undeveloped Maloudja beach was the subject of a competition for a high-end hotel complex facing the lagoon. Kama Architectes, working for 3SA Comores, starts from the balance of built and open space: buildings, gardens, shared and private areas interlock rather than saturating the shoreline. The scheme measures itself against the memory of the place, the old Hotel Galawa that was once a regional landmark, aiming for a resort worthy of the archipelago's tourism potential without making its coast ordinary.
